In an unusual 2020 season which was impacted by the global COVID-19 Pandemic, Fabian Coulthard seemingly got better the longer the season went, finishing with a race win at The Bend, a handful of podiums and a 4th place finish at the Bathurst 1000 to finish 6th overall in the Drivers Championship.

2020 would ultimately prove to be Coulthard's final season for Shell V-Power Racing Team as a full time driver ending a successful 5 year stint with the team, capturing numerous race wins, podiums and playing a significant role in helping the team claim the Teams Championship in 3 of those years in 2017, 2019 and 2020.

Since its launch in 1948, the Land Rover has been used for heavy duties (just like the US Jeep) by the military, police, and firefighting services. The Land Rover used an aluminum body on its ladder frame due to the limited availability of steel in England after WWII, not for its lighter weight. In 1990 it added ‘Defender’ to its name to differentiate from the new ‘Discovery’ model that was launching the following year. Various models were created from a combination of three different wheelbases, 90/110/127(130) inch, with engine specifications from 2.4ℓ diesel turbo to 3.9ℓ gasoline, and temporarily marketed in Japan by Land Rover Japan. The ‘90’ is a 3-door short wheelbase spec that excelled in harsh off-road conditions and was a standout performer in the ‘Camel Trophy’, the world’s toughest adventure rally. Many intrepid features of the competition machines have been incorporated into these miniature models. The yellow model is based on the survival specification that includes winch, lamp guard, roof rack, spot lamps, rear ladder as well as spare gas tanks, suitcases, and recovery tracks. The gray model is a high-speed specification and includes minimal equipment for running through flat terrain.

With the recent addition of the 1:18 scale Ford Ranger Raptor to our growing suite of models, everyone here at Authentic Collectables felt that the Repco Supercars Championship Recovery Vehicle made perfect sense to be one of the releases that made up our limited edition Raptor range.

Following on from our very well received Mustang Supercars Safety Car release, this is another Supercars category model which we think will be a really different and interesting model that both racing and Ford off-road fans can add to their collections.

Dubbed by many of Australia’s motoring experts as the toughest truck in town, the Ranger Raptor is the hero of Ford’s Australian off road range. It features bespoke external styling, is wider, sits higher and features some really impressive off-road credentials, one of which is the tow hooks on both the front and rear making it the perfect official recovery vehicle option for Supercars in partnership with Ford.

It definitely looks the part. On top of the largely standard Raptor package is the high visibility Ford Performance Recovery Vehicle livery adorned over the stunning blue exterior colour scheme. That combined with the roof mounted light bar and a special communications package makes this Raptor look incredible.

This officially licensed model is scheduled to be produced in high quality sealed body format with clear windows and detailed interior which includes right-hand-drive steering configuration.

This model has been produced in an exclusive limited edition of 402 and will come with an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

The Grand Prix marked the last Formula One race for the 2007 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen, who had announced his intention of retiring at the end of the championship, ending his Formula One career after 19 seasons and moved to NASCAR Cup Series. As of 2022, it also marked the last race for Antonio Giovinazzi, who moved to Formula E, and Nikita Mazepin, whose contract was terminated following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine and the cancellation of Uralkali's title sponsorship. It was also the final races for George Russell and Valtteri Bottas at Williams and Mercedes, respectively, as they moved to Mercedes and Alfa Romeo Racing.
