Hornby R60108 OO BR Conflat A

20.00 $

British Railways used several standard types of wagon. The Conflat A, which could carry one type 'B', or two type 'A', containers, was the most common; while the Conflat L, which could carry three smaller containers for bulk powders, was also produced in large numbers.

'Conflat' is the telegraphic code within the Great Western Railway's coding of railway wagons for a container wagon. Unlike normal wagon loads, containers were only listed to carry furniture or goods (unless they were refrigerated containers, which carried frozen products kept cold by ice) which needed to be placed on a specialist flatbed wagon which had train braking capability due to the fragile nature of the products carried.

The wagons were removed from service steadily with the advent of more modern containers passing into use. The BR Conflat matches the rest of the BR catalogue well as a compliment to many other wagons, utility vehicles, and locomotives of the era.

Hornby R40355A OO Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II MK3 Sliding Door Trailer Disabled ER0072

40.00 $

Running with the Platinum Jubilee HST units, this coach reimagines what the ageing Mk3 coaches may have looked like in this celebratory Platinum Jubilee year under the old LNER. Full trains of these could have been used to commemorate such an occasion had nationalisation simply not happened. In a Platinum Jubilee silver with blue trim livery with re-purposed destination boards, the six First Class and two First Class Restaurant sliding door Mk3 coaches would indeed make a never to be forgotten image while being pulled along the East Coast Main Line at high speed. The sleek lines combined with more than a salute to the art deco style of the 1937 ‘Coronation’ train, plus the wonderful opulence and style such a service offered, brings fanciful imaginings into reality, if only in model form. This coach is numbered ER0072, in celebration of the Queen’s 20th year on the throne.

SDS Models PL002 HO VR BPL Coaches VR 31APL 71BPL Smooth Side 2 Car Set

104.00 $

The original Austrains PL series of carriages have been upgraded. The Austrains NEO series are based around the same 59'9" design as the original models.

We've retooled the sides to reflect another style of doorway synonymous to this type of carriage, the sliding door. At the same time we took the opportunity to remove the faux raised screw heads of the original model along the raised beading and letter board area of the car body.

We have also improved the dimensionally accuracy of the roof mounted torpedo ventilators, made some small changes to the appearance of the bogies and improved the interior seat representation.

Lastly, we have introduced an additional width underframe, with centered handbrake wheel position. This provides us with a opportunity to model specific car numbers that match the prototype and offer all new car numbers. Three distinct eras of operation are offered, all with specific annotations on the car sides.

The APL and BCPL cars use the original 8'0" wide style underframe and the BPL cars ride on a new 7'6" style of underframe with centered handbrake wheel.
