After a character building first season which saw him take out the 2021 Indy 500 and IndyCar Rookie of the Year honours, Scott McLaughlin can now add an IndyCar pole and race win to his growing list of motorsport accomplishments, ticking off both in one weekend after he started his 2022 season in perfect style at the first race of the year on the streets of St. Petersburg.

With a goal of a 'solid' top 7 finish the main aim for the weekend in the build up to the Grand Prix, expectations quickly changed as McLaughlin secured a sensational breakthrough pole which lit up social media in excitement, especially at home in Australia and New Zealand.

Come race day McLaughlin didn't disappoint. He successfully navigated the pressure of his first rolling start from pole and largely controlled the race with car 3 the effective front-runner all day. Slow traffic created a nail biting battle in the closing stages of the race with reigning series champion Alex Palou, but ultimately the race was McLaughlin's as he held his nerve to cross the finish line in first place.

It was an incredibly proud moment for the driver, his team, his family and his supporters across Australia and New Zealand, with McLaughlin thanking all of them in victory lane.

We’re very proud to present this die-cast version of the Team Penske DEX Imaging IndyCar driven by McLaughlin to secure his first career IndyCar pole position and race win at the 2022 Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg.

Presented on Firestone alternate tyres, visually differentiated by red sidewalls, this model has been produced in a limited edition of 804 and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by McLaughlin.

A figurine of McLaughlin celebrating the win is also included making this an extra special collectable for fans.

2018 was a breakout year for Shell V-Power Racing Team's Scott McLaughlin. Despite the release of the new model Holden ZB Commodore for the competition, McLaughlin stamped his authority on the year, taking the Championship Trophy.

In the background of the teams 2018 success however, they were working closely with Ford Performance in the United States, Ford Australia and Tickford developing their 2019 weapon - the Ford Mustang GT Supercar.

In the hands of McLaughlin, the Mustang tasted success on debut on the streets of Adelaide and the rest, as they say, is history. McLaughlin would go on to win 18 races across the year to break the record for most wins is a season, win at Bathurst and of course go back to back in the championship to record one of the most dominant seasons ever witnessed in Australian motorsport.

The distinctive Orange Holden A9X Torana first appeared in the hands of the late Bob Jane in the 1977 Australian Touring Car Championship sporting a striking livery with backing from 2UW, Kleber and the four-time Bathurst winner's tyre company, Bob Jane T-Marts. It then made its first Bathurst 1000 appearance with Bob Jane and Ian Geoghegan behind the wheel in the 1977 edition of the Great Race. The pair qualified fifth with a lap time of 2:25.9 in their only Bathurst start together, though the wheels quite literally fell off their campaign when the car lost a wheel only 35 laps into the race. This unique beast only lasted two racing seasons after it was involved in a mammoth shunt at Amaroo Park during an AMSCAR Series event with Garry Rogers at the wheel in 1979. He lost control of the Torana at the infamous Stop Corner, slamming into the concrete wall side-on leaving the A9X damaged beyond repair.

Erebus Motorsport have a great tradition of racing special liveries on a regular basis and the camouflage livery that they raced at the 2019 Townsville 400 was no exception.

Paying tribute to the Royal Australian Artillery, the new look was unveiled at the Lavarack Barracks in Far North Queensland prior to the event with the team's regular black / red and gold colour scheme being replaced largely with the familiar army camo pattern for both David Reynolds and Anton DePasquale's cars for the event.
