In an unusual 2020 season which was impacted by the global COVID-19 Pandemic, Fabian Coulthard seemingly got better the longer the season went, finishing with a race win at The Bend, a handful of podiums and a 4th place finish at the Bathurst 1000 to finish 6th overall in the Drivers Championship.

2020 would ultimately prove to be Coulthard's final season for Shell V-Power Racing Team as a full time driver ending a successful 5 year stint with the team, capturing numerous race wins, podiums and playing a significant role in helping the team claim the Teams Championship in 3 of those years in 2017, 2019 and 2020.

Coming off the back of 3 consecutive Supercars Championship crowns in 2018, 2019 and 2020, 2021 saw McLaughlin make the big transition to full time IndyCar racing in the United States of America.

Considering McLaughlin’s limited open wheel racing experience, it would be very hard to argue that his first season in IndyCar wasn’t a success. While openly admitting that he needed to better maximise his efforts during qualifying, his general race craft and speed was very good and ultimately won himself both the Indy 500 and IndyCar Rookie of the Year honours.

McLaughlin raced a variety of different liveries across 2021 with the sleek, eye-catching pink and white CarShop livery the fourth different colour scheme he raced during the season following the PPG and Pennzoil liveries which we have previously released as 1:18 Scale replicas.

We’re excited to be releasing this die-cast version of McLaughlin’s CarShop IndyCar presented on Firestone alternate tyres, visually differentiated by red sidewalls to further complete the 2021 set of McLaughlin IndyCar models we have released.

This model will be produced in a limited edition of only 504 pieces and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by McLaughlin. Numbers are strictly limited for this special collectable, don’t miss it.
