Trumpeter 05369 1/350 USS Sangamon Cve-23
The Sangamon class escort carrier was converted from a tanker in 1942. At that time, the hull of the C3 cargo ship was insufficient, and the development of warfare urgently needed to escort carrier. Considering that the oil tankers built according to the 1936 Merchant Ship Construction Plan were larger and faster, 4 of them were converted into Sangamon class. After the completion of the Sangamon class, it participated in the Allied landing operations in North Africa, setting a precedent for the use of an escort aircraft carrier as a fleet aircraft carrier. Later he also participated in the Normandy landing battle. It was only transferred to the Pacific Ocean to participate in the war against Japan in the early middle of 1944. This class participated in the Great Battle of Wright Bay and acted as an aircraft carrier to attack Japanese warships and achieved many successes. Later, he participated in the Iwo Jima landing battle and Okinawa landing battle. All retired in 1959 after the war.

The Yorktown's Faithful Protector
The USS Hammann (DD412) was commissioned in August 1939, the fourth ship in the 1,500-ton Sims class of destroyers. Her hull had a raised sheer strake to protect from higher waves, while the use of a single funnel allowed a large area at the stern for her impressive ordnance. She was equipped with four 12.7cm guns, four single 12.7mm machine guns and eight torpedo tubes. After rescuing survivors of the stricken aircraft carrier USS Lexington in the Battle of the Coral Sea in May 1942, the Hammann screened another aircraft carrier, the USS Yorktown, in the Battle of Midway in June of that year. While attempting to salvage the Yorktown, which had been badly damaged by Japanese aircraft, she was torpedoed by the Japanese submarine I-168, and swiftly sank. She received two battle stars for her service in two major naval battles of WWII.

Packing Ten 20.3cm Guns!
The Mogami-class was designed in 1931 as 8,500-ton light cruisers armed with five triple 15.5cm gun turrets, and the lead ship of the class, the Mogami, was completed in July 1935. She was rearmed with twin 20.3cm gun turrets in 1939 and it was in this configuration that she entered the war. She and her three sister ships formed the Japanese Second Fleets's Cruiser Division 7 and were assigned to support the landings at Malaya. During the Battle of Sunda Strait in March 1942, Mogami and her sister ship Mikuma sank the heavy cruiser USS Houston and light cruiser HMAS Perth. Following extensive damage suffered at the Battle of Midway, her stern was dramatically modified to carry reconnaissance floatplanes in an effort to enhance the fleet's scouting capabilities.
