Aoshima A000928 1/700 I.J.N Battleship Nagato 1944 Retake
The namesake of the first class of battleships in the world fitted with 16" (40.64cm) guns, the 42,850-ton displacement IJN Nagato was commissioned in November of 1920 and served in the Pacific conflict alongside the IJN battleship Yamato. After sustaining damage during the Battle of Leyte Gulf, the Nagato returned to Yokosuka Naval Base where she was relegated to coastal defense duties, ending her IJN career with the distinction of being the only Japanese battleship still afloat at the end of the war. She met her end as one of the target ships in the Bikini Atoll nuclear tests, surviving the first atmospheric detonation but sinking after the following undersea detonation.
Aoshima's new release of the Nagato is finely molded in gray plastic and is a waterline model, depicting the Nagato as she appeared in 1944 during the Battle of Leyte Gulf.

Takom 5015 1/72 USS Missouri Battleship MK.7 16/50 Gun Turret No.1
The Missouri is the third Iowa-class battleship of the United States Navy. The 16-inch 50-caliber gun Mk.7 mounted on the Iowa-class ships was based on the North Carolina-class and South Dakota-class 16-inch 45-caliber Mk.6 gun. The Mk.7 used the same ammunition as the Mk.6, but its barrel is longer, and the charge has been changed to a low-pressure charge for the long barrel to increase its power by gaining initial velocity. The turret and hydraulic system have also been redesigned. The long-barreled Mk.7 has a faster muzzle velocity, which reduces the effects of wind, has a longer range than the Mk.6, and has increased power and shooting accuracy at close range.
This model kit from Takom includes photo-etched parts and decals for two versions; a base for display is also included.
