After overcoming numerous challenges, it was transported to China in 2002 and underwent a decade of extensive modifications before being officially commissioned in 2012 with the pennant number '16.' As a pioneer in the development of the Chinese Navy, Liaoning has continuously enhanced its combat capabilities through ongoing modernization.
