The 1975 LeMans 24 Hours saw a rather an usual entrant, the Chrysler Hemicuda of Michel Guicherd and Jean-Claude Geral. Entered into the ‘T’ or touring class the big American Muscle car was essentially a modified hill climb machine, and sadly not quite cut out for the rigours of the most gruelling 24hr race in the world, failing to qualify. But as the big machine powered down the straights in practice, it sure made a fascinating sight!

This particular 991 GTE was driven by the then current Le Mans winner Nick Tandy at the 2016 Le Mans endurance race. Sadly for the team, the car, with is eye catching good looks, proved to be a rather unlucky competitor and the team failed to finish. However, it didn’t stop the team from delivering a wonderfully turned out racing car, with a fantastic works Porsche livery.

This particular Aston Martin has been a mainstay of the AMOC series over the past few decades. It combines the wonderful dark shade of Green so common with Aston Martin racing cars of old with the vibrant yellow that is so associated with them in the 21st Century. Highly modified from the road going car this V8 racer is a real brute, capable of high speeds as well as quick laps. 1986 saw the last ever Grand Prix to take place at the famous Brands Hatch GP circuit. The race itself saw a victory for home hero Nigel Mansell in the famous FW11 Williams. He also achieved a lap record that due to changes in the track, continues to stand today!
