Herpa 538084 1/500 QantasLink Bombardier Q400 Dasher-8

35.00 $

In early December 2023, Qantas unveiled this Christmas-themed aircraft, replacing the reindeer with the kangaroos that are more common in Australia. The Dash-8 was aptly renamed the "Dasher-8," after one of the reindeer that pull Santa's sleigh in the popular Christmas song "Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer." On the first flight with this aircraft from Brisbane, passengers were greeted by Santa Claus himself at the gate, which certainly created a festive atmosphere when boarding the plane. The Dasher-8 will be released once in a limited edition in 1:500 and 1:200 scales.

YRD Models AN-225-UR-82060-INTER-1 YRD 1/200 Antonov Airlines AN-225 UR-82060 Interactive

112.00 $

The An-225 was the largest jet aircraft ever flown. Designed in the 1970’s for transporting the Soviet Union’s “Buran” Space Shuttle, the aircraft first flew on 21 December, 1988. After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the aircraft was placed in storage in 1994, where it sat until the need for ultra-high capacity freight became obvious in the early 2000’s. The aircraft visited Australia only once, in May 2016, when it delivered a 117 tonne generator for mining company South32. The intrigue and fascination around this behemoth resulted in enormous traffic delays on the Perth airport inbound freeway, with people abandoning their cars and running for kilometres down the freeway just to view the aircraft land.

Features

  • This model aircraft is made from high quality resin and plastic and includes extensive detailing including a display stand. It is similar in quality to Wooster, Herpa, PPC and Hogan models.
  • Includes a display stand.
