Andys Hobby Headquarters 1/16 M113A1/M113A1 ACAV Armoured Personnel Carrier (2in1)

100.00 $

An icon of the Cold War, the American M113 is perhaps the definitive armoured personnel carrier (APC). The M113A1 featured a new powerplant, compared to the initial version; the original petrol engine was replaced by one running on diesel, which improved the vehicle's fuel economy, as well as reducing risk from fire.

The M113 was originally designed to ferry troops around whilst protecting them from small arms fire and shrapnel (a 'battle taxi'); during the Vietnam War, the design was found to need a bit of an upgrade for the local conditions (the ARVN tended to use the M113 as more of an MICV/light tank!), including enhanced firepower and better protection for the gunners. From this need, the ACAV was born: the main 12.7 mm HMG was given an open-top turret to protect the user, as well as a frontal gun shield; additionally, a pair of shielded M60s were mounted towards the rear.

Andy's latest kit can be built in one of two ways, as you prefer: either as the definitve M113A1 battle taxi, or the ACAV. Hatches can be built open or closed, and there's a wealth of interior detail to work with. As a finishing touch, a figure to operate the .50 cal is also included.

Takom 8014 1/35 StuG III Ausf.F8 Late Production

25.00 $

The No. 3 assault gun is a version that diverted the chassis of the No. 3 tank developed in Germany during World War II. The F8 type gets its name because the chassis of the Panzer III, which is the base body, had been changed from the 8th production lot to the J type. The front armor was welded in the initial production version, but vehicles produced after October 1942 had their front armor fixed in place with bolts.

Features

  • This model kit from Takom can be built with the main hatch opened or closed

  • The track is a link-and-length type.

  • A metal gun barrel is included

  • Photo-etched parts and decals for four versions are also included

Mirage 72614 1/72 Chemical Tank OT-130/1

14.00 $

The OT-130 (another designation: KhT-130) was a Soviet flamethrower tank from the interwar period and World War II.

The first prototypes of the car were made in 1938, and serial production started shortly after. The tank was powered by a single 91hp GAZ T-26 engine. The length of the wagon was about 4.6 meters with a width of about 2.4 meters.

The OT-130 was constructed on the basis of the T-26 model 1933 tank. It is worth adding that the T-26 was also the basis for the development of other vehicles of this type in the interwar period. The main changes between the OT-130 and the serial T-26 concerned the main armament as well as the shape and armor of the turret. The OT-130 was armed with a single flamethrower in a rotating turret that had a range of up to 50 meters. The tank with the flammable liquid had a capacity of approx. 360 liters. The secondary armament was a single 7.62 mm machine gun. The OT-130 vehicles were used in combat during the war with Japan (1938-1939), Finland (1939-1940) and in the initial period of the German-Soviet war (1941-1945).
