The B-2 Spirit was developed by the Air Force as a replacement for the aging B-52 bomber fleet. This long range stealth bomber is designed for strategic penetration. The boomerang shape and radar absorbing paint make it difficult to detect radar. It has a range of over 6,000 nautical miles. Armaments include bombs, both nuclear and conventional, as well as rotary launchers. It is the most expensive military aircraft ever produced with an approximate unit cost of $2.4 Billion. This die-cast metal model comes in 1:280 scale with plastic stand and is approximately 3 inches long with 7 3/8 inch wingspan.

Hobbymaster 8908 1/48 Grumman F4F-4 Battle of Midway white 11 Lt. Scott McCuskey VF-3 USS Yorktown June 1942
Early in the Pacific War in WWII the Grumman F4F Wildcat was the best fighter aircraft the U.S. had but was out performed by the Japanese Zero. The Wildcat’s folding wings allowed for a greater number of aircraft that could be carried but added extra weight and reduced the aircraft performance. New features such as self-sealing fuel tanks, heavy armor made up for the Wildcat’s lesser performance. By the end of WWII the F4F had flown approximately 15,500 sorties with a kill ratio of 6.9 victories to 1.
