Regardless of whether it’s coal, ore, precious metals or even diamonds, as soon as humans discovered mineral resources in sufficient quantities, they set about mining them. But when the mines no longer yield anything, humans move on and leave nature to its own devices. And it immediately sets about reclaiming its territory! Shut-off devices such as a padlock and bolt or a secure iron gate are useless in this scenario. In the end, the setting will go back to being covered with virgin forest!

We are always fascinated by nature. Especially when it reclaims places we humans have laid claim to ourselves. So-called ‘lost places’ have long since become an attraction. We stay behind in these places not really wanting to believe what we are becoming aware of: that our existence on the planet is brief. This showdown between man and nature fascinates us. Deep down, we know that nature always wins in the end, and will also outlast us humans. The sets in the ‘Abandoned Places’ series each consist of a finished model made of NOCH Hard Foam, one or two handmade twisted wire trees and high-quality painted and 3D-printed accessories. You can arrange the compilations according to your setup requirements. The models designed in this way are highlights for every model landscape and attract everyone’s attention.

Abandoned cities or villages are particularly fascinating to us. Because nowhere other than in a so-called ghost town are we aware that this place was once a hive of activity, of which nothing remains today. Deserted villages are eerily beautiful! And our well was also unable to withstand the involuntary renaturalisation. Trees, shrubs and many other plants proliferate, creep and grow where people once relaxed by watching the water feature.

• Adit made of NOCH Hard Foam with neglected gate and old trolley twisted wire tree "Oak"

This elegant, very long Cadillac Sedan de Ville, appears in jet black with a very pale grey white interior, chrome trim and whitewall tyres. The 1961 four-door model represents the second generation of the De Villa series incorporating new physical and mechanical configurations under designer Bill Mitchell. This version was manufactured until 1964.Our extravagantly detailed model is registered in West Virginia in 1961 as 244 049.

The Routemaster was first introduced in the early 50s. It emerged as the most popular double decker bus of all time. As one man operated buses came more into use , some of the Routemasters were sold off to a variety of fleets throughout the U.K. Some vehicles were even exported for use in other countries.

This history of Oxford Diecast and production in Swansea means the lineage of this model is quite interesting. Many rememember the Corgi (Mettoy) Routemaster that was manufactured in huge numbers. Back in the 1970's when ever we were short of production orders, we just inserted 250,000 buses into the programme. I recall many punch ups with the sales force, who would object strongly as they had the reponsibility of selling whatever was made. Needles to say when they were sold out and the warehouse was empty of Routemasters, they would quickly criticise the factory !

The Mettoy (Corgi) Routemaster was copied by many of the Hong Kong and Chinese manufacturers over the years. My favourite recollection was seeing a terrible copy by an Indian manufacturer. They had bought a sample, but the roof was not straight, there was a 'hump' on the top at the rear; on an internal cavity of the mould there was an insert that came lose from time to time - some production had slipped through with the 'hump' (probably night shhift) and that is what the Indian company had purchased for their sample.

In London there was a company called Seener, named after the owner, we tooled up a version for him. He wanted a smaller model around 15/20% smaller to save costs, so we chose 1:76 scale - a lucky scale for Oxford. These carried the brand name SEEROL, named after the owners son ROLand SEEner. We made around 500,000 of these during the 1980's. The tooling eventually fell to pieces and the newly produced Oxford 1:76 variant appeared - it had for once wheel hubs that looked correct.

1:20 scale diecast bus, comes on a plinth (model can be removed from plinth with a clear lid and an Oxford TT scale wrap.

Besides the traditional orchard meadows, fruit plantations can also been seen more and more in our landscape.
You can use the new Plantation Trees to perfectly build such a scene on your model layout.
By the way, the Plantation Trees with apples even have small yellow-red fruits.
