UNIFROG combines the features of both Insulfrog and Electrofrog. As supplied the turnouts operate like an Insulfrog: the tip of the frog is a separate, isolated section, so will be dead when connected to a live layout. However, a wire has been welded to the underside of the frog tip that gives the modeller the option of "powering" the frog, i.e. connecting it to a microswitch, or changeover switch, which allows the frog tip to change polarity according to the direction for which the turnout is set. It's a much more versatile option for modellers, as it does not require any additional insulated breaks as these have been incorporated into the turnout. The opportunity has also been taken to modify the design slightly to include the sleepers at both ends of the unit.

Large Radius Left Hand Turnout Bullhead Track Unifrog

This OO scale bullhead track from Peco represents the common style of track once seen all over the UK (and in some parts of France too!). Even today, bullhead track can still be found on secondary routes and in sidings, so the time frame for this track is very wide. With sleeper dimensions and spacing closer to 4mm/OO scale (despite the track gauge still being 16.5mm), visually this track does look impressive once ballasted and weathered. It was always going to be a compromise, but we think that the result is pleasing to the eye. Certainly, the attention to detail of the rail chair fixings should be noted, a visual necessity for replicating true bullhead track.

We are pleased to announce the release of the SL-U8361 and SL-U8362 code 83 #6 turnouts. The PECO Streamline “83 Line” Code 83 track system has been many modellers’ premier choice for modelling American railroads since it was launched back in 2004. As part of our ongoing improvements we recently had the opportunity to re-tool the #6 turnout, which now benefits from one piece machine point blades, and the introduction of the Unifrog format to give the modeller options for wiring. We can help you further understand the concept behind Unifrog, which replaces Electrofrog and Insulfrog, but incorporates the benefits of both.

At 140mm long, the N-PR541-15(F) is a standard Tomix electric point that branches to the right and the N-PL541-15(F) is a standard Tomix electric point that branches to the left. It is fully selective and can also be used as a spring point.

A deck girder bridge is an iron bridge with plate-shaped main girders on both sides, with the tracks on top of the girders.

The structure is simple and easy to construct, but it is not suitable for long iron bridges.

It is sometimes installed in combination with other iron bridges, such as truss bridges.
