Now, a new era of domination begins with the 1/10 scale 22X AC 2WD Race Buggy Kit. TLR started with lessons learned from the World Championship-winning 22, and from years of further 22 platform development plus valuable racer feedback. The result is a brand new buggy design that's easier to maintain and comes optimized for astro and carpet tracks, with a ton of adjustability that makes it easier to drive faster on today's high-grip surfaces.

If you're ready for the podium, the 22X AC 2WD kit is equipped to take you there. Key improvements compared to the earlier TLR 2WD buggy designs include a hard-anodized 2mm 7075-T6 aluminum chassis that's lengthened and optimized for today's higher grip tracks, plus larger 13mm big-bore shocks with 13mm springs for plush landings and quick cornering.

Two front caster block and spindle options let you tune the steering feel to what you want and need on different surfaces; options for wide or narrow king pin locations are available. The wide location provides a more linear feel and keeps the buggy flatter through the corners. The narrow king pin location provides the grip needed to be more aggressive on astro and carpet tracks.

The TLR 22X AC 2WD kit also has a new laydown gearbox design with an easy-access differential and idler gear. You'll be able to maintain the differential and idler gear quickly without disassembling the entire gear box — a big advantage given that the suspension uses the gearbox for all of its mounting points.

TLR includes many option items with the 22X AC race kit to offer the maximum amount of tunability right out of the box. After all, the demands of 2WD electric racing have changed, as the tracks have changed from traditional loose-grip dirt to high-grip clay, carpet, and astroturf. NEW LAYDOWN GEARBOX DESIGN

The new laydown gearbox design allows easy access to the differential and idler gear. The idler gear and differential can be replaced and maintained quickly without disassembling the entire gearbox — a key convenience because the suspension uses the gearbox for all of its mounting points. Multiple differential heights are possible, starting higher than previous 22 vehicles for current style tracks.

MULTIPLE KING PIN OFFSETS

Two front caster block and spindle options let you match the steering feel to different track surfaces with wide and narrow king pin locations available. The wide location has a more linear feel and keeps the buggy flatter through corners. The narrow king pin location provides a more aggressive grip and feel.

G3 13mm BIG-BORE SHOCKS

Larger 13mm big-bore shocks are included with the 22X for even better handling and cornering. They're paired with new 13mm springs to provide the proper support. The new shocks have updated G3 3mm internals while utilizing the current trusted seals.

ALUMINUM CHASSIS

Lengthened for consistency with current track types, the 2mm machined 7075-T6 aluminum chassis is hard-anodized for excellent wear characteristics and precision milled to flex in the correct places for optimal grip.

ADJUSTABLE CASTER

Caster adjustments on the 22X AC 2WD race buggy are made using included inserts. A wide variety of caster adjustment options — from -5° to 5°, in 2.5° increments — are available right out of the box. In combination with the adjustable kick up, this lets you go from 15° to 30° of total caster.

ADJUSTABLE KICK UP

You have more options now to change the chassis kick-up angle using the multiple shims included with the kit. Kick up can be adjusted from 20° to 25° in 2.5° increments simply by changing the kick shim under the front suspension.

CARBON FRONT & REAR SHOCK TOWERS

The 4mm front and rear shock towers are made of woven carbon fiber for rigidity and durability. The front tower anchors to the front bulkhead to reduce flex and increase bulkhead strength. The rear tower location allows for more wing adjustment, and for the rear diff to be removed without removing the gear box. Should a rollover occur, included shock tower covers protect the track surface.

STANDARD OFFSET FRONT WHEELS

The TLR 22X AC 2WD race buggy kit uses the industry standard offset 2.2” front wheels, giving you more brand options to choose from when completing your kit. (Wheels sold separately)

NEW BALL STUDS & ROD ENDS

The TLR 22X AC race kit features new ball studs and rod ends with 5.8mm balls for interference-free movement. The larger ball studs provide more undercut surface area to hold the rod ends in place while minimizing the friction in your suspension. The rod ends feature an opening that allows you to make quick and easy roll center changes without having to pop the rod end off of the ball stud.

REFINED STEERING GEOMETRY

Continuing to make the 22 vehicles the best-driving 2WDs Team Losi Racing has ever created, the 22X AC race kit features refined steering geometry for a smooth, consistent feel going around the track.

PRO-LINE SECTOR 22X BODY

Durable but lightweight, the Pro-Line Sector buggy body comes precut and ready for your custom paint scheme. Together with the low-mount front wing and Air Force 7” rear wing, the body offers great looks and adds to your vehicle's balance, grip, and stability on the track.

MULTIPLE STIFFNESS OPTIONS

Most of the 22X AC 2WD race buggy kit's glass-filled composite parts are available with a variety of stiffness options. You can optimize the balance and rigidity of the 22X using different stiffnesses in key areas throughout the vehicle.

VARIABLE HEIGHT AXLE (VHA) REAR HUBS

You can easily adjust the Variable Height Axle (VHA) rear hubs to achieve the side bite versus forward bite and roll characteristics you need — a design feature introduced and proven in TLR 22 series vehicles.

NEW ADJUSTABLE REAR PIVOTS

New rear pivots are included that use existing TLR 22 pill inserts for a large degree of adjustability, such as fine-tuning anti-squat and rear toe.

BUILT-IN MOTOR FAN MOUNT

The prevalence of spec racing has led to the need for many racers to install motor fans for keeping temperatures lower. Rather than an aluminum mount or double-sided tape, the 22X includes a built-in, molded fan mount secured to the mud guard. You can easily and securely install your choice of widely available 30mm x 30mm fans.

SUPER HEAVY DUTY SLIPPER (SHDS)

Introduced in the previous TLR 22 buggies, the Super Heavy Duty Slipper (SHDS) has been carried over for its effectiveness at providing consistent power to the surface. The layout of the slipper has been updated for the 22X to improve vehicle balance.

ALUMINUM PARTS

Many durable, lightweight aluminum parts are used in the 22X AC 2WD race buggy design — including the ball stud washers, rear clamping hexes, motor plate, axles, A/B front outer camber block, pivots, 25T clamping servo horn, and shock stand offs.

ADAPT TO ANY TRACK

All necessary parts are included with the TLR 22X AC race kit to give you a large amount of tunability right out of the box, without needing to buy extra parts.

MINI-Z MOLDED BODY DETAILS

PAINTED BODY

Fully pre-painted body looks like a luxury diecast car replica. The thicker body material also provides superior durability.

FRONT GRILLE & LED LIGHTS

Original cut design of the headlight lenses, indicators and tail lights are reproduced as clear parts so you can incorporate the optional LED lights to enjoy an ultra-realistic car experience.

BODY MOUNT

A newly-designed one-touch body mounting system is used instead of the mounts commonly used on all previous Mini-Z cars and trucks. The new system uses spring-wire retainers to quickly and easily install and remove the body.

CHASSIS & GEOMETRY DETAILS

The same ladder frame and multi-link rigid-axle suspension commonly used in popular 1:10-scale off-road models, is condensed into Mini-Z size for the most articulation and performance available in any mini RC truck.

LADDER FRAME

The Mini-Z 4x4 incorporates a ladder frame design with steel vertical plates, in combination with various molded parts, to deliver the ultimate balance of of rigidity and flex for superior performance and durability.

SOLID AXLES

Solid front and rear axles feature links with steel rods and captured rod ends. Ring and pinion gears, in addition to other gears and components, feature metal construction to withstand the heavy loads under the toughest driving conditions.

STEEL LINK & BALL END

The upper A-arms and lower links that connect the front and rear axles to the chassis, feature strong steel links and captured ball ends. This is the ideal design for strength, maximum range of motion, and smooth operation.

ADJUSTABLE WHEELBASE

The 4WD system transmits drive force to the wheels from the main gear unit in the center of the chassis through front and rear center shafts. The wheelbase can be set to either 110mm or 120mm by adjusting the length of the spacers on the upper arms. Note the DEFENDER uses a 110mm setting.

COIL OVER TYPE, SHOCK ABSORBER

The newly designed shock absorbers feature 360-degree spring retainers, which means they can't be lost on the trail and the springs are more likely to re-seat when the suspension settles after hard impacts or operating at the extreme limits of the suspension. The spring retainers simply cannot come loose.

STEERING ANGLE

The front axle features ideal Ackermann geometry. Combined with the advanced design of the axle housing and the other steering components, This model features the tightest turning radius in Mini-Z history. It means the Mini-Z 4x4 has exceptional handling capability for anything ranging from casual driving to hard-core crawling.

DRAG LINK & TIE ROD

The steering servo drag link and the rugged molded tie rod are part of a steering system that delivers an incredible amount of steering angle, which results in excellent rock crawling capability.

TIRES & WHEELS

Tires and wheels that are specific to each model are a major focus of the Mini-Z 4x4. This model features a scale reproduction of Toyo Tire's export brand "Nitto Ridge Grappler" tires mounted on custom wheels.

BATTERY TRAY

Four AAA batteries are located on top-front section of the chassis to ensure good ground clearance and achieve realistic rock crawler performance.

GEARBOX AND GEARS

The gearbox features molded covers and includes 6 pinion gears that allow adjustment from ultra-low gearing for steep terrain, through to high-speed gearing for smooth running on flat roads. In addition, the need for annoying backlash adjustments has been negated with the special spacer mounted on the outside of the motor.

SLIPPER CLUTCH

A standard slipper clutch protects the drive system by reducing the torque when excessive load is applied. Note the metal upper shaft and primary gear for durability.

NEW SPEED CONTROLLER

The on-board electronics are also unique to the Mini-Z 4x4, with special features that improve the crawling experience. The accessory ports on top of the board allow an optional gyro (MZW431) and an optional LED light set (MZW429R) to be easily plugged in to enhance performance and realism.

STEERING SERVO

The component steering servo features its own casing to allow enhanced performance, and it connects to the receiver/ESC with an independent connector.

Included KT-531P transmitter operates on FHSS 2.4GHz and features steering/throttle trim in addition to dual-rate adjustment of steering angle and LED control functions. Control feel has improved with adoption of sponge steering wheel. Gyro effect can be fine-tuned through volume adjustment.

Rear Adjustable Hubs

The rear hubs on the 8IGHT-X/E 2.0 have an updated pin location as well as are now height adjustable in more increments for fine-tuning and maximum rear grip

Square Insert Pills and Narrower Rear Pivots

All pivot mounts have been updated to use square pills to offer more tunability. The rear pivots are now narrowed to improve the front to rear roll of the car and provide more rear grip in all situations and better-balanced front to rear.

7075 3mm Aluminum Chassis

The chassis is new to the 8IGHT-X/E 2.0 and is made from 7075 3mm thick aluminum and hard anodized for the best wear possible. The chassis is also milled out deeper to allow for more flex and the lightest 1/8 chassis to date.

Center Diff Setup

The center diff mount is a new molded composite piece offering more rigidity and the new integrated mount for the throttle servo is lighter. The E buggy side will be handled using an updated center diff setup from the 8XT.

Brake Setup

The brake cams have been updated and the brakes are now freer and provide better and more consistent braking force and feel.

Front and Rear Shock Tower

The rear shock tower works with the new rear gearbox and pivots. The front shock tower is shorter to decrease the front chassis roll as well as lower the CG. Both have been lightened, new camber link mounting positions, as well as shock mounting positions to provide the tunability and durability racers, are looking for.

Better Diff Access

The front and rear diff case have been altered to allow easier access to the differentials without removing the bulkheads from the vehicle. The rear diff case has been updated to allow for the new C and D pivot blocks.

Cab-Forward Style Body

A cab-forward design helps with overall downforce, which improves steering and overall stability. The body comes precut for ease of mounting.

Front Spindles

The 8IGHT-X/E 2.0 spindles have been updated to use 3mm screws for the steering arm for increased reliability.

Front and Rear Universals

The 8IGHT-X/E 2.0 includes universals for the front and rear which are shorter and lighter which makes the car smoother in existing turns and aids in the flow in bumpy track conditions.

Aluminum Wheel Hexes

The wheel hexes in the 8IGHT-X/E 2.0 have been optimized for use with this updated platform. They are hard-anodized aluminum for durability and weight savings.

Radio Tray

The steering servo has been moved in and forward to provide a better balance to the car. For the E version, the updated steering servo mount has an integrated ESC mount to get the ESC forward in the car.

Steering Rack

The steering rack allows more Ackerman adjustments and an improved servo saver to eliminate bellcrank bind during high loads. Also, the rear mounting points moved in and back allowing the drag link to sway back for a more linear steering feel.

Wing Mount

8IGHT-X/E 2.0 uses the wing mount from the 8IGHT-X Truggy that offers different heights and positions for ultimate traction control.

Optimized Shocks

The 8IGHT-X shocks are optimized and lightened to decrease the center of gravity and lower the weight of the car and will include 3.5mm shock shafts. The shock pistons have been altered to allow more blow-by to aid in bump handling.

Insert/Truss Suspension Arms

Long front and rear arms provide great bump handling and stability. The arms are stronger using a truss-style base as well as upper stiffener plates to adjust flex for full tuning abilities. Bushings are used for the inner hinge pin area to provide a worry-free, smooth function at all times.

Gear Differential

All three gear differentials now include V2 HD diff cases with composite pin holders, V2 O rings, lightened sun gears, and F/R high traction outdrives. Which provides more grip and a consistent feel throughout the entire run along with quicker acceleration and longer run times.

Suspension Geometry

The 8IGHT-X/E 2.0 next-generation suspension geometry has further been updated making a car that is fast, nimble, and even easier to drive. This includes a myriad of updates including, a wider front pivot with less scrub radius, narrower rear pivot, and updated hub offset, longer suspension arms, and more suspension mounting locations.

Adjustable Caster Blocks

17.5 deg caster blocks are included that allow the height of the spindle to be adjusted up and down for high-speed stability.

Sway Bar System

The sway bar system has collars that eliminate side to side play to provide a more consistent suspension package.

Chassis Side Guards

The chassis side guards have been updated to allow for more room as well as moved back 3mm to provide for tire expansion. The E-Buggy side now has the battery tray molded into the side guard for a lower center of gravity and lighter weight.

Bleeder Shock Caps

Machined aluminum shock caps with threaded bleeder holes for easy and consistent bleeding of oil. Bladders and Emulsion seals are included for tuning to your track conditions and driving style.

PAINTED BODY

FRONT GRILLE & LED LIGHTS

Original cut design of the headlight lenses, indicators and tail lights are reproduced as clear parts so you can incorporate the optional LED lights to enjoy an ultra-realistic car experience.

BODY MOUNT

A newly-designed one-touch body mounting system is used instead of the mounts commonly used on all previous Mini-Z cars and trucks. The new system uses spring-wire retainers to quickly and easily install and remove the body.

CHASSIS & GEOMETRY DETAILS

The same ladder frame and multi-link rigid-axle suspension commonly used in popular 1:10-scale off-road models, is condensed into Mini-Z size for the most articulation and performance available in any mini RC truck. 

LADDER FRAME

The Mini-Z 4x4 incorporates a ladder frame design with steel vertical plates, in combination with various molded parts, to deliver the ultimate balance of of rigidity and flex for superior performance and durability. 

SOLID AXLES

Solid front and rear axles feature links with steel rods and captured rod ends. Ring and pinion gears, in addition to other gears and components, feature metal construction to withstand the heavy loads under the toughest driving conditions.

STEEL LINK & BALL END

The upper A-arms and lower links that connect the front and rear axles to the chassis, feature strong steel links and captured ball ends. This is the ideal design for strength, maximum range of motion, and smooth operation.

ADJUSTABLE WHEELBASE

The 4WD system transmits drive force to the wheels from the main gear unit in the center of the chassis through front and rear center shafts. The wheelbase can be set to either 110mm or 120mm by adjusting the length of the spacers on the upper arms. Note the DEFENDER uses a 110mm setting.

COIL OVER TYPE, SHOCK ABSORBER

The newly designed shock absorbers feature 360-degree spring retainers, which means they can't be lost on the trail and the springs are more likely to re-seat when the suspension settles after hard impacts or operating at the extreme limits of the suspension. The spring retainers simply cannot come loose.

STEERING ANGLE

The front axle features ideal Ackermann geometry. Combined with the advanced design of the axle housing and the other steering components, This model features the tightest turning radius in Mini-Z history. It means the Mini-Z 4x4 has exceptional handling capability for anything ranging from casual driving to hard-core crawling.

DRAG LINK & TIE ROD

The steering servo drag link and the rugged molded tie rod are part of a steering system that delivers an incredible amount of steering angle, which results in excellent rock crawling capability.

TIRES & WHEELS

Tires and wheels that are specific to each model are a major focus of the Mini-Z 4x4. This model features a scale reproduction of Toyo Tire's export brand "Nitto Ridge Grappler" tires mounted on custom wheels.

BATTERY TRAY

Four AAA batteries are located on top-front section of the chassis to ensure good ground clearance and achieve realistic rock crawler performance.

GEARBOX AND GEARS

The gearbox features molded covers and includes 6 pinion gears that allow adjustment from ultra-low gearing for steep terrain, through to high-speed gearing for smooth running on flat roads. In addition, the need for annoying backlash adjustments has been negated with the special spacer mounted on the outside of the motor.

SLIPPER CLUTCH

A standard slipper clutch protects the drive system by reducing the torque when excessive load is applied. Note the metal upper shaft and primary gear for durability.

18 FULL BALL BEARING SPECIFICATIONS

The best drive efficiency is accomplished with the included set of 18 ball bearings, factory installed to ensure the smoothest most efficient operation possible, right out of the box.

130 MOTOR

The Mini-Z 4x4 features a specially-designed high-torque motor that is unique in the Mini-Z World. It's optimized for maximum torque, and it develops more power at lower speeds.

NEW SPEED CONTROLLER

The on-board electronics are also unique to the Mini-Z 4x4, with special features that improve the crawling experience. The accessory ports on top of the board allow an optional gyro (MZW431) and an optional LED light set (MZW429R) to be easily plugged in to enhance performance and realism.

STEERING SERVO

The component steering servo features its own casing to allow enhanced performance, and it connects to the receiver/ESC with an independent connector.

FHSS / KT-531P TRANSMITTER

Included KT-531P transmitter operates on FHSS 2.4GHz and features steering/throttle trim in addition to dual-rate adjustment of steering angle and LED control functions. Control feel has improved with adoption of sponge steering wheel. Gyro effect can be fine-tuned through volume adjustment.

Enhanced scale features of the American street van styled FAZER Mk2 MAD VAN combine with a 50% increase in maximum speed with the change to brushless motor power in this 1/10 scale VE model. In place of the conventional G14L brushed motor, the new model combines the powerful TORX 10E brushless motor with BRAINZ 10 speed controller to lift the maximum speed from 40km/h to 60km/h. To manage the extra power and RPM, gears have been reinforced and reduction ratio optimized on the FZ02L-BT chassis base, which now incorporates the previously optional aluminum HD center shaft L. In addition to chassis improvements, the body styling has also received a 3-D enhancement with molded resin grille and lights replacing decals, and a roof guard has been added to protect the body from rollovers. FAZER Mk2 sets the standard for Kyosho 1/10 EP car chassis. A bathtub type frame realizes an optimal combination of rigidity with moderate flex and incorporates the proven reliability of shaft-type 4WD together with sealed front and rear gearboxes to handle the punishment of off-road driving.

Long-type upper and lower suspension arms equipped with oil shocks for front and rear provide a sufficient stroke and secure damping force. Ball-connected left-right interchangeable steering knuckles realize smooth operation and crash resistance.

Optional aluminum HD center shaft (No. FAW210) is standard equipment to support the power of brushless motor and realizes smooth rotation.

The TORX 10E brushless motor generates enough power for gentle wheelies with the big body and tires. Sealed motorcase prevents dirt and dust from getting into the motor and gearbox.

Includes BRAINZ 10 speed controller equipped with cooling fan, for brushless motors. Able to be programmed for specific purposes. Waterproofing allows you to drive even in the rain or through small puddles.

Gearbox incorporates high-strength sintered metal gears. In addition to new material, the final gear ratio has been changed to low gear to fully utilize the power of the brushless motor. The machined steel pinion gear has also been strengthened.

Large diameter tires produce high grip on any road surface. The kit comes with pre-glued wheels so you can hit the ground running. To match the new-look chassis, wheels have been changed to white and match nicely with the body.

VE model features a wheelie bar to prevent flipping over when doing wheelies. With the power of the brushless motor, the dynamic acceleration lifts the front wheels and the chassis runs on its rear wheels (wheelie).
