This assembly kit is a fun build for fans of both classic R/C models and cartoons, as the Super Storm Dragon (previously known as the Super Dragon Body Set) is now available in a complete kit with a chassis for the first time! The Super Dragon appeared in the classic 1980s Japanese comic “R/C Boy” and gained a big following in both plastic and print.

The Super Dragon first appeared in 1986 in a classic Japanese RC comic and was originally only available from Tamiya as accessory bodykit 50364 for the Hornet chassis.

The success of the Super Dragon led Tamiya to the birth of the legendary “Dragon model series”, which was followed by other models such as Fire Dragon, Thunder Dragon and Saint Dragon.

The polycarbonate body is already painted and cut to size, and the simple and easy to assemble chassis is recommended for a wide range of users.

A TBLE-02S speed controller and type 540 motor are included.

World beating racing buggy drives again! Revival of the famous Optima Mid!

England 1987 was the scene of the 2nd IFMAR (International Federation of Model Race Cars) electric off-road world championships. In addition to the standard Optima, Team Kyosho entered a midship motor mounted prototype in the 4WD Class. Racing under its ‘Mid Optima’ project name, the prototype stunned the world making up five of the ten cars to qualify through to the A-Main Final, but unfortunately missing out of the top prize in finishing a credible 2nd to demonstrate its outstanding performance potential. The prototype was close to the final product released to the market under its official name ‘Optima Mid’ allowing racers around the world to experience its revolutionary capabilities. Still as popular as the original back in 1980, the Optima Mid joined esteemed company as part of the Kyosho Vintage Series with its revival in 2022. To commemorate Kyosho’s 60th anniversary in 2023, the original World Championship prototype spec Optima Mid will be released as a limited edition. While sharing the same basic configuration as the standard Optima Mid, the World Championship prototype featured several optional parts as standard and a special body, which has been recreated with a new mold and combined with a large polycarbonate rear wing. A dedicated decal is also included to reproduce the original color scheme.　Aluminum parts have been changed from the original gold color to a chic gun metallic in combination with special color wheels to create a style unique to the limited edition 60th anniversary model. The World Championship prototype Optima Mid that never made it to market in its original form in 1987 is enhanced with modern racing technology so you can enjoy Kyosho’s anniversary year with dynamic performance using the latest RC systems and power sources.

It's So Easy And Fun To Drive!

To drive the Quantum MT FLUX, simply pick up the controller with your left hand, put your left index finger into the trigger area, and then put your right hand on the steering wheel – it’s as natural as driving a real car! Turn the wheel to go left and right, and gently pull on the trigger with your left index finger to go forwards. To stop the car, gently push away from you with your left index finger - then release and push away again to go into reverse. It takes seconds to get used to this easy operation, and pretty soon you'll be racing with your friends!

ARRMA® holds your maintenance downtime to the minimum with an efficient, driver-friendly design. A sliding mount allows quick, hassle-free motor access. The center diff is easy to reach and can be removed by taking out just seven bolts. The year 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the original release of the iconic Hornet off-road buggy! To celebrate the milestone, Tamiya’s designers have cooked up a fun variant that is sure to please new hobbyists and veteran hobbyists alike!

This R/C model assembly kit is an updated version of The Hornet, the original of which was first released in 1984. It largely keeps the original bathtub frame and pairs it with 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension and oil dampers, while the sealed rear gearbox gives excellent off-road dust proofing with a built-in 3-bevel differential gear for smooth cornering. Three-piece assembly wheels are paired with front ribbed and rear high-grip spike tires, and a lightweight and durable polycarbonate body can be decorated with the included stickers, which have been freshened up on the occasion of The Hornet's 40th birthday.

Smooth 4-Wheel Double Wishbone Suspension

Hornet EVO. uses a lightweight, superbly balanced chassis based around a slim ABS plastic bathtub with the R/C equipment atop the inline battery pack in the lower center; its 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension uses upper I arms and lower H arms front and rear, with CVA oil dampers making for smooth motion. Turnbuckle upper arms ensure that you can adjust the camber to meet your needs. The motor is mounted in the rear along with a sealed gearbox, and dog bone design drive shafts ensuring an extra layer of reliability, with full ball bearings efficient drive.
