The officially licensed Toyota Hilux SR5 body included with the Venture18 RTR is completely outfitted with a range of fabulous scale items. In addition to the hand-painted polycarbonate body with clear windows, you'll find a host of scale details including a pair of real side mirrors, door handles, grills, classic tube bumpers front and rear, light buckets for the working lights, dual-tube rollbar and adjustable-width rock rails that help the truck glide over tough obstacles.

ROCK RAIL SLIDERS

Robust side bars, known as rock sliders or rock rails, allow the Venture18 to slide over obstacles that are just a bit too tall for it to completely clear. Stretching from the front to rear wheel openings, they serve to aid off-road performance as well as protect the body from scratches by ground obstacles like rocks and roots. Although they are the perfect fit for the Toyota Hilux SR5 body out of the box, they can be adjusted in width to fit other scaler bodies.

ROCKTHORN OFF-ROAD TIRES on CS-10 WHEELS

The Venture 18 is fitted with 1.2"" Rockthorn tires molded in sticky rubber, just like the 1.9” version. Each tire is studded with a variety of lug sizes across its face, and the tread extends to the sidewall to help get the Venture18 get over extra-difficult obstacles like mossy rocks and slick tree roots. The tires are mounted on great-looking chrome finished CS-10 1.2 inch 3-piece beadlock ""Steely"" wheels, which themselves feature center hub caps that hide the steel wheel locknuts for maximum scale realism. Whether you're navigating through rocky obstacles or conquering tight spots, the Venture18 trail truck delivers hours of fun and excitement.

COUNTER-ROTATING DRIVELINE

The Venture18 features counter-rotating telescopic center driveshafts with universal joints at both ends for super-smooth power transmission to the front and rear axles. This virtually eliminates torque-twist on the chassis when the truck is powering up tough inclines!

CENTER SERVO OPERATED 2-SPEED TRANSMISSION

The Venture18 is equipped with an all-metal, servo-operated 2-speed transmission, designed for superior performance and durability. With the flick of a switch on the transmitter, you can effortlessly switch between low and high gears, giving you the flexibility to tackle any terrain with ease.

Low Gear boasts an impressive final drive ratio of 81.44:1, providing exceptional slow-speed crawling capabilities for those tight, technical trails and obstacles. And when you need a burst of speed on a flat, open section - or just need a wild amount of power to get up a climb! - simply shift to High Gear on the transmitter for a final drive ratio of 20.36:1, offering a blast of speed!

LOW CENTER OF GRAVITY

Built with an all-metal transmission design, the driveline is not only incredibly tough and brushless-ready but also features a super-low center of gravity. The driveshafts are composite slider-style shafts with universal joints at each end, where they meet the transmission case and axle. At the axles, metal 11-tooth pinions and 28-tooth ring gears (for an axle ratio of 2.54:1) sit inside the ""pumpkin"", or center, of the axles. This helps enhance stability and balance, allowing the Venture18 to conquer even the most challenging lines and obstacles with confidence.

AXLE MOUNTED STEERING SERVO

The Venture18 FLUX features a strong, high-torque 1.0kg plastic-geared micro steering servo. The axle mounted servo allows the Venture18 to go exactly where you want it with precise steering control, and the extra weight over the front axle helps the truck get over tough obstacles!

The Venture18 steering setup and front universal driveshafts give the truck and impressive 45 degrees of steering angle out of the box, so you don't have to do any complicated modifications to get maximum performance on the trail.

STRAIGHT AXLES

The Venture18, just like classic off-roaders, is equipped with straight axles both front and rear, providing exceptional power delivery when you need it most. These rugged axles ensure that each tire operates with full-time 4WD, maximizing grip and traction on any surface.

With an impressive axle articulation of 25.5 degrees, the Venture18 can easily conquer large obstacles while keeping all four wheels firmly planted on the ground.

MULTI-LINK SUSPENSION

The Venture18 features a sturdy and reliable 4-link suspension front and at the rear. 4mm composite rod links with integrated ball links form the lower and upper suspension links front and rear.

OIL-FILLED COILOVER SHOCKS

For ultimate trail tuning, the Venture18 features aluminum-capped oil-filled threaded body shock absorbers and soft springs that will easily handle the gentle bumps and dips you encounter while driving, as well the harder hits that come with off-road trailing!

You can tune your truck's ride with different shock oils or fine-tune on the run with the threaded aluminum spring collars to make the Venture18 perform at its best on the trail.

FORMED STEEL C-CHANNEL CHASSIS RAILS

The Venture18 is built for performance and scale realism, featuring a rugged open C-channel chassis rail design. SRL-706 3-in-1 ESC/RX/Light Controller

The Venture18 is equipped with a highly versatile SRL-706 3-in-1 electronic speed controller, which is packed with a full range of adjustments and capabilities. The SRL-706 is rated at 10A constant and 50A burst current and packs a lot of punch into something only 11g in weight.

The SRL-706 programmable settings can be controlled directly from the Transmitter! The TF-706 dip switches allow changes including, Drive mode, Battery mode, Drag brake and servo reverses for channels 5 and 6.

SD-01WR STEERING SERVO

The water-resistant HPI SD-01WR steering servo is the ideal companion for the Venture18 electronics package. This is a high torque servo with up to 1.1kg-cm holding power at 6V, plus it's water-resistant so it can easily handle splashes and water drops when driving through puddles, snow and mud. Mounted directly to the axle, it provides extra weight over the front axle to enhance the front weight bias of the Venture18.

TF-706 2.4GHz RADIO SYSTEM

Hit the gas and the 6S FLUX system blasts into action and to the uninitiated things can get pretty crazy VERY quickly! The all-new 4-door GTXL-6 'kingcab' style pick-up body fits over the XL-long 3mm thick TVP chassis which makes the truck nearly 600mm long in total! The Savage XL FLUX V2 isn’t simply extended at the back like its predecessors, the totally NEW XL chassis layout extends at both the front and rear of the car for perfect driving balance and agility! For awesome stability, XL-wide 17mm axle extenders gives the truck a total width of nearly 470mm for maximum ground-stomping traction!

HD SPRING-LOADED SERVO SAVER

Continuing the Savage's reinforcements, we're using even more HD upgrades in the standard spec! This heavy-duty servo saver spring provides more direct steering for all the new Savage X and XL Nitro and Flux models, allowing today's stronger steering servos to give the Savage faster and more immediate steering response.

TOUGH SAVAGE SUSPENSION

After almost 2 decades of seriously thrilling RC bashing performance, the HPI Savage has earned a reputation for being the toughest monster truck you can find. The Savage suspension has evolved along the way as well. The New Savage XL FLUX V2 features the latest ultra-tough, super-thick webbed suspension arms and uprights that can take a barrage of abuse and punishment, giving you plenty of big-air thrills in their stride.

CENTER SKID PLATE

Another new addition to the Savage XL FLUX is a super tough center skid plate specified by HPI’s designers to protect the chassis underside and the all-important components housed within. Whilst helping to absorb shocks and protect from impact and strikes from dirt, rocks, stones and debris, it also looks great too!

NEW CAPTURED HINGE PINS

It's not just about ballistic action, the new generation of Savages also have usability high on their agenda... Over the years Savage fans around the world have told us the hinge pins need to be secured in place so they don't come loose during extreme bashing, well our designers are always listening and have fitted the car with hinge pin covers to ensure they don't go anywhere, no matter how hard you bash

17MM HEX HUBS

For the new generation of Savages we've introduced Standardized 17mm Aluminum Hex Hubs. This means your Savage XL FLUX truck is ready to use any of the gigantic range of 1/8th scale buggy and truggy wheels and tires available from HPI. A large, black, serrated 17mm nut holds the wheel securely to the hub for worry-free bashing duties.

The Savage is known to wreak havoc and destruction, devouring terrain and anything in its path. However the Savage needn't be brutal for you to work on! We're continuing to refine the layout and accessibility in several areas like this new 2-piece motor mount design which allows you access via just the top screws. So removing the motor is no longer a time consuming project!

HIGH-POWER FLUX ELECTRONICS

The colossally powerful FLUX MLH-2200KV motor is ready for all the power you can run through it, and the FLUX ELH-6S-capable electronic speed controller is fully capable of up to 22.2 volts of power to let you pull off giant stunts and jaw-dropping speed!!

ENCLOSED ELECTRONICS BOX

Keeping your precious electronics safe is a veritable fortress! Building on the aluminum vertical chassis plates is a rugged, enclosed electronics box and Hex encrusted cockpit allowing airflow to hit the ELH-6S Electronic speed controller and access to the all important power button - to start the fun!!

BIG BORE NYLON SHOCKS

Four huge XL-size Big Bore shocks give all the suspension action you need to get out and blast through the roughest of tracks or off-road terrain. With slick nylon bodies they are lightweight and strong, with almost no friction 'stiction' between the shock piston and shock body. The extra-large capacity gives you extra control and damping action so you have the driving feel that makes off-road driving so much fun!

ALL-METAL TRANSMISSION GEARS

In addition to steel pinion and spur gears, the Savage XL FLUX V2 features all-metal transmission gears to make sure that power delivery is uninterrupted and every bit of power gets from the motor to the tires efficiently and with no worry of damage to the gears. The whole drivetrain runs on ball bearings for optimal efficiency, for extra-long runtimes and mega-fast top speeds!

STEEL SPUR GEAR & SLIPPER CLUTCH

The drivetrain is equipped with a strong steel pinion and 43-tooth steel spur gear for extreme durability as you rip off huge stunts and jumps. For extra resilience, the spur gear features a dual slipper pad design. The spur gear is sandwiched between two lightweight aluminum slipper plates so the drivetrain is protected from hard landings.

FAST ACCESS CENTER DIFF

As all true RC fans know, the hobby is not just about bashing, it's also about maintenance, repairs, spares and upgrades! As we take a look at the new Savage XL FLUX V2 Center Differential, it's good to know that the inner workings of the beast are now easily accessible via just a few screws. So whether you want to check it over, or change the diff grease for extra tuning, it'll be quick and easy so you can get back to bashing in no time!

SUPER HD Drivetrain

To cope with the sheer power of the 2200KV FLUX system and the brutal eruption of energy it inflicts upon the Savage XL FLUX, the Super HD drivetrain is in its element. From the all-metal center transmission to the Bulletproof 29/9T Differentials. The diffs are fitted with extra-tough forged metal heavy-duty differential pinion and ring gears, plus sintered metal 4-gear internals and metal casings at both ends. Steel diff outdrives, extra-thick super heavy-duty dogbones and steel axles finish off the drivetrain.

STUNT READY OUT THE BOX

The Savage XL FLUX V2 lives and breathes for big air, and it's able to crank out multiple backflips and wicked wheelies at a blip of the throttle to give you maximum freeestyle points and stunt-whipping action!
