Tomix 9019 N 9019 SAHA 481 (489) With AU13
The 485 series was introduced in 1968 as a limited express train compatible with three power sources, DC and AC 50/60Hz, based on the previously introduced 481 and 483 series, and was manufactured for a long period until 1979, and was active in electrified sections nationwide as a representative limited express train of JNR.
The 489 series was introduced in 1971 as a train based on the 485 series, with measures to pass through the Shinetsu Main Line between Yokokawa and Karuizawa. The Saha 481 and 489 types have the same body as the Moha 485 and 489 types, and were used as trailer cars in long formations. The cars manufactured from 1972 were changed from the AU12 cooler, also known as the mushroom type, to the distributed AU13 cooler.

Hornby R60190 OO 4 Plank Wagon Brookes Limited Era 3
The open wagon is one of the most ubiquitous types of wagon to ever see service in the UK. Regardless of their size, the wagons could be seen almost anywhere from individual wagons being moved by small tank engines to large rakes of them being hauled behind some of the largest tender engines of the day.
The wagons were largely unspecified, they would carry any cargo that didn't require any protection from the elements. As time progressed and rolling stock developed, the general use wagon would see its use become more limited, wagons designed specifically around their cargo would begin to supersede the standard open wagon through the 1940s and 1950s.
Many open wagons would find their way into private ownership, with each company then commissioning one of the Big Four companies to move their wagons to their destination. This 4 plank wagon is typical of the kind that could be seen making up a colourful patchwork behind one of the Big Four's freight engines.
This open wagon is fitted with NEM couplings and metal wheels, allowing it to roll freely and therefore allowing wagons to run in long rakes behind even small locomotives as may sometimes be tasked with hauling them. This wagon also has internal plank detailing, a load need not be fitted if you do not wish to add one.

Hornby R40234 OO BR InterCity Mk3 Trailer First 41059 Era 8
In-order to allow running at 125 mph on Britain's Victorian era railways, new rolling stock was needed by British Railways. Significant improvements over the Mk2 included new secondary air suspension between the bogies and the coach body as well as aerodynamic skirting on the underframe.
Mk3 coaches are 75ft (23m) long enabling far greater capacity than older coaches. Mk3 coaches also incorporate disk brakes and wheel slip protection enabling faster deceleration. The first Mk3 coaches to be delivered were used as part of the HST prototype along with the two Class 41 diesel power cars in 1972.
Mk3 coaches entered service in 1975 along with the Class 43 forming the iconic InterCity 125 trainset. After the HST Mk3 coach variant was introduced, further Mk3 coaches were introduced to the West Coast Mainline for use as part of locomotive hauled trains.
Whilst Mk3 stock is standard for HST units, the standard locomotive hauled stock is Mk3a. Mk3a stock differs from Mk3 stock due to the inclusion of buffers as well as a different electrical system that uses motor generator units in each coach to power air conditioning and other ancillaries Mk3a stock was built until 1984, before 3B stock with improved seating and lighting was built from 1985 to 1988.
After their brief stint in the BR Blue and Grey colour scheme the Mark 3 coaches saw a livery change in line with a corporate rebrand of high speed services. The new InterCity livery saw the coaches painted in a darker grey colour with a beige stripe along the top and bottom of the coaches with a red stripe under the windows.
This livery was designed to emulate or copy the advanced yet ultimately fruitless APT project. This livery would largely remain unchanged even after a further rebrand to Intercity Swallow, before the coaches would transfer into private ownership at the end of BR.
These Mk3 coaches include the provision for lighting provided by the R7305 Maglight lighting unit, as well as fully detailed interiors and metal wheels throughout. For the first time, these coaches also include our new Buckeye style magnetic couplings.

Hornby R4774 OO BR Mk1 Coach Corridor Brake 2nd Class Blue & Grey
Designed by R.A Riddles (The Mechanical & Engineering Member of the Railway Executive) and aided by E. Pugson (Carriage & Wagon Chief Officer) and E.S Cox (Design Chief Officer), the Mark 1 carriage had a separate body and underframe with a standard body length of 64ft 6in, an underframe 63ft 5in long and bogies at 46ft 6in centers. Body width was eventually settled at 8ft 8in, at cantrail height. The stock was introduced in 1951 in sets on 'Festival of Britain' trains being built through to 1964, when superseded by the Mark II design. The Brake Second Open (BSO) consists of a standard class open passenger saloon, with a center aisle, a guard's compartment with hand brake and a lockable luggage compartment. This was built between 1955 and 1963 to two diagrams: 183 and 184. 181 examples were built in total, 163 examples of Diag.183 and eighteen Diag.184 examples. These ones differed in having Commonwealth Bogies, Fluorescent Lighting and a door separating the sixteen non smoking seats from the twenty three smoking seats. The early deliveries went to the ER/NER and WR, with the ScR batch arriving in 1959. Long-lasting, they ran in crimson and cream, chocolate and cream, lined maroon, and blue/grey. The First Open (FO) consists of a first class open passenger saloon with a center aisle and 119 examples of the Diag. 73 were built between 1951 and 1963 (seventeen similar Diag. 72 examples differed in having the middle doors central, with half windows each side and seating re-arranged with no central table). Early allocation was split between Eastern, Midland and Southern regions, with later allocations including Western and Scottish regions. Some examples went on to become Heritage/VIP charter stock and were liveried in Intercity colours.

Powerline PC-526C HO BTN 273 V/Line Maroon/White/Blue Z Type Carriage
Powerline PC-526C HO BTN 273 V/Line Maroon/White/Blue Z Type Carriage
The Z type carriages are an air conditioned steel passenger carriage used on the railways of Victoria, Australia. The carriages were constructed by the Victorian Railways from 1957 for use on intrastate services. For most of their service, the Z cars operated as Z sets, however, in the early 1990s most sets were broken up, with carriages merged into N sets. They thus currently run on mixed service with Z sets.

Hornby TT6009 TT 12T Tank Wagon Mobil No64
The tank wagon was the main method of transporting liquid cargo in the early days of the railway. Instead of loading liquids into drums or barrels and then having to load these on and off of closed or open vans at each side of a journey, the tank wagon could be filled with the fluid of choice of the operator and then emptied at the other end. This would also increase the carrying capacity of each wagon, as a wagon with a 12 tonne weight limit could carry more fluid if it did not have to factor in the weight of many barrels on top of their contents. This type of tank wagon was more commonly seen hauling hazardous liquid chemicals, with different designs existing for milk and other such cargo.

Hornby R60209 OO BR TTA Tanker Wagon BP 67765 Era 8
The TTA tanker is one of the most numerous types of tanker wagon ever seen on British railways. While far from the first or last such wagon to be used the standardised nature and relative simplicity of the mechanisms in the tank and chassis led to thousands being built during the 1960s and 70s.
Mainly for the use of petrochemical products the TTA tanker would see use in heavy block trains around the country, hauled by some of the most notable diesel freight engines to have served with BR. Withdrawal for the wagons would begin in the early 2000s when larger bogie tank engines would take over their role, with most examples of the wagon scrapped other than a handful preserved for posterity.
The Hornby TTA tanker is a newly tooled for 2023, the first time this has been retooled since 1973. With a phenomenal amount of detail on what can sometimes be seen as a rather plain wagon these are a must for any late twentieth century modeller.
