The Kiha 261-1000 series is a diesel express train that was introduced in 2006, and has since been added to the fleet and is now JR Hokkaido's main express train.

The Kiha 260-1300 series is an intermediate car that can be incorporated into a train set individually, allowing the number of cars in a train to be tailored to suit demand.

The Class 755 bi-mode multiple unit trains are built by Stadler Rail for Greater Anglia as one of five EMU’s for the UK, part of the highly configurable FLIRT modular train family and designed for greater capacity, the typical 25 kV 50 Hz AC overhead power supply, and comfort over long-distance journeys. The Class 755 entered service on the 29th of July 2019 having been delivered to Greater Anglia the previous November.

The 800 series is the Kyushu Shinkansen's flagship train, mainly used on the Kyushu Shinkansen line between Hakata and Kagoshima-Chuo.

The 800 series 0 series has been in service since the line opened, and there are currently five trains in service.

The 0 series was the first commercial Shinkansen train to appear in 1964.

The 1000 series, which appeared in 1976 and had small side windows, were added to replace the earlier cars that were mixed in within the trains, so some cars with large windows remained within the trains, and the "Hikari" trains with dining cars attached were called NH trains.

The 185 series is a direct current express train that began operation in 1981. Its color scheme is cream No. 10 with a diagonal stripe of green No. 14. The skirt has been changed to a reinforced type since around 2010.

The 583 series, which was allocated to Aomori Depot at the time of privatization, was used for the Hakutsuru, Yuuzuru, and Hatsukari trains, as well as the Tsugaru express and Akebono special trains.

After regular service ended in 1994, it was used for non-recurring transportation, but when the Hatsukari express service ended in 2002 due to the extension of the Tohoku Shinkansen to Hachinohe, it was transferred to Minamiakita Depot and Sendai Depot, and the series is no longer in service.

The Ohani 36 series is a 60 series passenger baggage combination car that was created by reusing the frame of a wooden passenger car. Unlike other 60 series ordinary cars, the seats and other parts were made to the same express specifications as the Suha 43 series, so except for the bogies, it looks like a Suha 43 combination car. It was introduced in brown, but some of the cars were changed to blue.

The Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit 70-000 series is a train that was introduced for the Waterfront Fukutoshin Line (now the Rinkai Line) that opened in 1996.

When it was introduced it was a 4-car train, but when the entire line opened it was expanded to 10 cars, including the existing trains.

The 4 trains introduced in 2002 were 10-car trains.

Currently, in addition to running between Shin-Kiba and Osaki on the Rinkai Line, it also runs on the JR Saikyo Line and Kawagoe Line, and can be seen in operation on JR lines as well.

The E235 series is a new commuter train that was introduced on the Yamanote Line in March 2015.

50 sets of this series will be introduced by 2020, replacing the conventional E231 series.

The bead shape of the roof has been changed since the set that appeared around 2018.

The E259 series, which appeared in 2009, is a limited express train that began operation in October of the same year as the successor to the 253 series.

A renewal was announced in March 2023, and the first train with a new paint scheme was released in May of the same year.

All 22 trains are scheduled to have their paint changed by the end of fiscal year 2023.

The N700 series is the main vehicle on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines, and the improved version, the N700A, which has further improved safety and stability, has been in service since 2013. The vehicles belonging to JR Central are the 1000 series.
